Azerbaijan's tourism potential is being highlighted at the Eastern Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (EMITT 2024) held in Istanbul, Turkey. The event is organized by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board.
At the national stand, six tourism companies, two hotel groups, and “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC are representing the country. The exhibition will run until February 9.
Visitors are provided with extensive information on Azerbaijan’s diverse tourism offerings, including its gastrotourism, winemaking, winter tourism, and mountain ski centers. Special focus is given to the The Cultural Landscape of Khinalig People and “Köç Yolu” Transhumance Route, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as the country’s tangible and cultural heritage, and business tourism opportunities. B2B meetings are also being held with representatives from Turkey and other countries in the tourism industry.
It is worth mentioning that Turkey ranked second in terms of the number of foreign citizens visiting Azerbaijan in 2023. Last year, 378,204 people visited Azerbaijan from Turkey, marking a 19% increase compared to 2019.
